DEX or dexterity 技量, also called ABIL or ability, is a character stat in Phantasy Star Online 2. DEX is used as a requirement for equipping a variety of items, including many katanas, bullet bows, and gunslashes, and all sub units. Only DEX from class levels, passive skills, and an equipped mag count for these requirements. DEX also increases the minimum damage a character deals with all attacks, and decreases the minimum damage a character takes from all attacks. Katana and bullet bow photon art damage counts a character's DEX value as being 10% higher.
The braver class is associated with a high DEX stat. Some rangers and gunners will also build for high DEX. DEX is also beneficial to other characters who rely on more than one attack stat for damage, since DEX improves striking, ranged, and technique attacks.
An equipped mag adds its dexterity support level to its owner's DEX.
